Google Registered as a Company in Pakistan

Good news! Google, the American tech giant, has officially registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP).
Exclusive sources have informed us that the SECP has granted Google a certificate of registration in accordance with Section 435 of the Companies Act 2017.
The documents made available to us reveal that Google Asia Pacific Pte. Ltd. has been registered under the Companies Act 2017 to open a liaison office in Pakistan.

Sources are indicating that Google will officially begin its operations in Pakistan shortly after registering with the SECP. A Google delegation is arriving in Pakistan next week and will be meeting with Pakistani authorities to discuss their operations.
It seems that the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) has been in contact with various international companies, trying hard to bring them to Pakistan, however, due to the current political unrest, they have been hesitant to do so.

The IT ministry is eagerly anticipating Google’s forthcoming office in Pakistan in the coming days. Officials from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) reported that Google has introduced multiple projects in Pakistan in recent years. In September, they established career certifications to allow Pakistanis to pursue flexible learning options. Additionally, in June of 2022, Google created a suicide hotline in Pakistan to address the issues of suicide and mental health.

The official from the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication shared that Google’s registration as a business in Pakistan is an encouraging sign. Google is investing an impressive $3.5 million into its certification program, and the registration with the SECP implies that they are eager to invest even more.

Google registering in Pakistan could have a number of potential implications for the country. Firstly, it could lead to an increase in foreign investment in the country, as investors may be more willing to invest in a country with a presence from a major global company like Google. Secondly, it could lead to an increase in job opportunities in the country, as Google may be looking to hire local talent to help manage its operations in Pakistan. Finally, it could lead to an increase in technological innovation in the country, as Google’s presence could encourage more people to pursue careers in technology and develop new products and services.
